In 1929, Henry E. Bodman and Harlow N. Davock of Detroit selected the current Branch location to construct a log cabin. Featuring a ceiling crafted from British Columbia fir and anchored by a grand fireplace at one end the cabin was thoughtfully designed to be functional and inviting.
Upon completion, they generously gifted the building to Tobermory to serve as their public library, creating a lasting community legacy.
